Dinner Party for Life
We all know my love of food and I've often said that our food can kill us or cure us. With this in mind, I wanted to let you know of a benefit dinner coming up.
Dinner Party for Life Sunday, July 24th. 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Proceeds go to Cuisine for Healing - a nonprofit organization dedicated to making nutritious, delicious food readily available to people combating disease while providing education about the power of healing food. My friends, the wonderful ladies of Texas Toast Culinary Tours have put together a killer line up of local chefs to serve a six-course meal at Artspace 111. Rosie Moncrief is honorary chair.
This menu is gooorgeous!
Jon Bonnell, Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine Watermelon Consomme with Organic Chive Chevre from Latte Da Dairy and Spicy Pecan-Smoked Shrimp
Asdren Azemi, Ruffino's Roasted Beet Salad with Radicchio, Endive, Gorgonzola, Marcona Almonds and Citrus Ginger Vinaigrette
Gwin Grimes, Artisan Baking Company Fresh Pasta made with Teague Farms eggs and organic flour served in a broth of vegetable demi-glace and heirloom tomato essence, garnished with roasted tri-color heirloom tomatoes and lemon basil blossoms and finished with Texas Olive Ranch Arbequina Variety Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Lanny Lancarte, Lanny's Alta Cocina Mexicana Hoja Santa Wrapped Halibut, Brussels Sprouts and Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Jalapeno Beurre Blanc
Jerrett Joslin, Wild Mushroom Steakhouse Thai beef salad in serrano-sesame marinade with cucumber, tomatillos, and garlic
Brian Olenjack, Olenjack's Grille Banana, Pecan & Steen's Cane Syrup Bread Pudding
There will also be wines from all over and the delightful, locally-brewed Rahr beers. Having worked with the Texas Toast ladies before and knowing most of these chef's food, I can guarantee this will be an evening to remember for quite some time!
