Food Geek Friday: Red Velvet Smoothie
Just when I thought red velvet cake couldn't get any better, I learn you can drink it. And potentially spike it.
Not that I did.
This smoothie is rich and creamy while being totally healthy. Promise. No added sugars whatsoever. Know what this means???
Cake for breakfast, baby!
Or at least, a cake flavored smoothie. Works for me.
- 1 cup milk (if you're Paleo or dairy free then feel free to use a milk substitute. I used almond milk.)
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder (I used dark chocolate powder)
- 1 frozen banana
- a couple of handfuls of frozen cherries (15-20)
Blend all ingredients until smooth and enjoy!
And yes...I always enjoy my smoothies in a frosty martini glass...spiked or not.
