Food Geek Friday: Red Velvet Smoothie

Just when I thought red velvet cake couldn't get any better, I learn you can drink it. And potentially spike it.

Not that I did.

This time.

This smoothie is rich and creamy while being totally healthy. Promise. No added sugars whatsoever. Know what this means???

Cake for breakfast, baby!

Or at least, a cake flavored smoothie. Works for me.

Red Velvet Smoothie

adapted from The Sensitive Pantry

  • 1 cup milk (if you're Paleo or dairy free then feel free to use a milk substitute. I used almond milk.)
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder (I used dark chocolate powder)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • a couple of handfuls of frozen cherries (15-20)

Blend all ingredients until smooth and enjoy!

And yes...I always enjoy my smoothies in a frosty martini glass...spiked or not.
