Food Geek Friday: Chocolate Yogurt Dip
I came across a version of this recipe a while back. Can't remember where since, like most recipes, I glanced over it and then went on my own. Unless you're baking...recipes are merely suggestions anyway.
What I really love about this recipe is that, while I originally saw it as a fruit dip, it can also stand in as a healthy option for dessert or even breakfast.
Chocolate for breakfast?
Count me in.
Chocolate Yogurt Dip
- Plain Greek yogurt (higher in protein with a thicker, creamier and more sustantial texture than regular plain yogurt)
- cocoa powder
- maple syrup
- vanilla extract
- Optional add-ins: ground cinnamon or ground chipotle (or both for a Mexican style)
- Combine all of the ingredients. Since I don't measure, you'll want to play around with the flavor. Want it sweeter? More maple. Too sweet? More yogurt and/or cocoa powder. Not chocolatey enough? More cocoa powder. Flavor seem a little flat? More vanilla.
- Serve with seasonal fruit
