Things I Love: Carbonite

Many of my clients are going paperless. That means one thing. Back your sh*t up.

We all have the horror story of not having our computer info backed up and losing it forever. Admittedly, I got lucky. I only lost things here or there rather than a full-system melt-down.

But I've been close.

And when I started working for myself, it would have been business suicide if I didn't have all my info backed up.

In steps Carbonite. There are plenty of options out there, but I love this one because I don't have to do anything. Set it up and you're done. You don't have to remember to back things up at the end of the day. You don't have to do anything really. If something happens to a file, all of your files and documents (and photos, music, etc.) are set up in the Carbonite system exactly as they are in your computer. It couldn't be easier to retrieve a file.

(Helpful if you make changes to something and need the old version or delete something and want it back.)

This kind of security is priceless, but the real price is TOTALLY reasonable. Really, there is NO excuse to not be backed up. If you don't have a solid back-up system for your computer, I HIGHLY recommend this one.

(And for the record, I've received no compensation for this. I dig it and recommend it to all my clients so I'm sharing it with you too.)

Is your computer system backed up? How do you do it?
