Quick Tip: Displaying Children's Artwork

Displaying Children's Artwork - Organizing with a Side of Fabulous Blog

I love different and creative ways to hang children's artwork.

Let's face it. While they're little, there is going to be a LOT of incoming "art." Sometimes it's great. Often it's...iiiiinteresting...

No matter how fabulous or less-than-splendid the "art" is, you're a good parent and want to hang it. (And if you don't want to hang it, that's OK too. Many parents I work with don't like it, but you love your little person so you suck it up and do it for at least a little bit.)

So how do you display their creations in a more interesting way than just popping it up onto the fridge?

After MUCH research and deliberation of options, my client decided on this simple, quick, yet nice way to hang her kids' works.

It's so quick and easy to set up - just pick up some curtain rods and clips and you're in business!

  1. Choose your wall space.
  2. Hang the rods on the wall giving enough room for larger pieces of work. You can also vary the space between rods to have some rods for smaller works and others for larger.
  3. Run the hooks onto the rods.
  4. Hang the art from the clips.
  5. Switch out as new works come in.

Note: you want to get the curtain hooks that are the rings with clips.

What I really love about this set up is how versatile it is. It easily accommodates large pieces, small pieces and everything in between.

An added benefit is that it allows you to start curating the art with your child, and teaching them how to choose their favorites and that it's OK to let go of what isn't working anymore or as new things come along.

Related side note: this can also be used for adult works...especially if you've gotten into the adult coloring books trend.
